CHERIE D, was created in the UK where the designer Sherina Dalamal was born and brought up. After four years of formal training at Central Saint Martins, and a couture embroidery course at L’Ecole de Lesage-Alexander Mcqueen to Nicole Farhi, helping her gain a deeper understanding of western cuts and sensibilities. This can be seen through her collections which encompasses silhouttes of different forms: from babydoll dresses, to tampered shirts and skirts-enhanced by the subtle choice of embroidery and beadwork-just adding that hint of glitz and glamour. The designer has recently moved to Mumbai, and is quickly creating her niche and expanding her label on the Indian subcontinent. In just over a year Cherie D is retailing in about 20 boutiques all over India.
