Designer couple Bhumika and Shyamal Shodhan started off in fashion in the year 2000. Bhumika’s passion for textiles and fashion led her to study fashion design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology. A dream to create their own label led them to establish SHYAMAL & BHUMIKA. After setting up the label Shyamal travelled to London and took up short course study at the Central St.Martins College of Art & Design and thereafter studied Italian Design in Milan. The label known for its bridal couture and diffusion line which retails at Shyamal & Bhumika Ahmedabad Aza, Amara, Camomile and Kimaya in Mumbai , Etalage Chennai, Iris in Pune. The designers plan to retail their label from the top fashion destinations across the globe. Bhumika and Shyamal believe in using artisan techniques while designing their collections. Their love for Indian embroideries , hand woven fabrics and age old craft techniques promises to take them to the world. The designers are also involved in the research and revival of various dying arts and crafts. Truly luxurious, infinitely wearable, and minimal is how one can describe this label.
