Julie Skarland is a designer of international format, but claims herself to be very much influenced by her Norwegian roots.Norway thus lives on in her works, not as an adaption of a neo-traditional style, but as a harmonic synthesis between memories of Norway contrasted with the influences from Paris and Delhi. Having had her own shop in Paris, she has developed her own style, reworking textiles with new fabrics and ideas. Its the harmony between the functional and the creative which makes her clothes both appear in shops and in museums, and which catches the eye, while never violating the coherence of the combinations.
