Deconstruct to reconstruct. Goa based designer Savio Jon believed in just that ever since he launched his self-named label in 1993. An artistic progression, Savio's clothes are constantly pushing the margins of fashion to create something Unlike. Naïve. Impractical. Grownup. His relationship with clothes began at six years old, cutting the bottom of grocery bags placing them on hangers, pretending them to be tops and organizing garage sales with his friends. But years later he is better known to do the same – with a more appreciative buyer. Of course, lack of formal training has only helped Savio to break the rules of fashion with more ease giving room for further experimentation without compromising on technique. The process is as organic as possible – as Savio still cuts almost every piece fom his collection to blend street style with avant - garde. To Savio clothes are not just clothes.They are an emotional understanding between texture, colour and detail. A bridge between art and fashion. In a world of offensive glamour, Savio has managed to find laid back elegance and maybe even a bit of humour.
